Jasprit Bumrah was excluded from the T20I and ODI series against England after breaking a finger in Ireland. India were in Dublin for a two-game T20I series which they won 2-0.
Bumrah played the first match but rested for the second as India called out Umesh Yadav and Siddharth Kaul. Bumrah, 24, is the world’s number one ODI bowler and his absence will be a blow to India, who will face fit English batsmen on flat fields.
Recently England broke their own record for the highest ODI total by beating 481 against Australia.
Bumrah, who has played 37 ODI and 35 T20I since making his international debut in 2016, made his Test debut while touring South Africa earlier this year. He made an immediate impression and finished the three-game series with 14 wickets, including a five wicket transport.
It is understood that India will call either Shardul Thakur or Deepak Chahar to replace Bumrah for the limited overtaking phase in England.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Bumrah will be in good shape in time for the Test Series in England from August 1.
